The Minister for Local Government and Social Cohesion Phil Woolas MP announced to Parliament in a written statement on 23 November 2006 a series of proposals to be introduced from April 2008 designed to change the look of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). This followed consultation of scheme members, employers and trade unions over the summer of 2006.
This new section of the Fund website has been created in order to provide a place where you can gain all the information you need to know about the New-Look LGPS that will take effect from 1 April 2008.
This section is updated regularly with up-to-date news about the
introduction of a new-look LGPS from 1 April 2008.
